"Recognition is the greatest motivator."

-Gerard C. Eakedale

Green Globes has potential to undermine LEED dominance
A Web-based green building performance tool from Canada, Green Globes, has been introduced to the U.S. market as an alternative to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Rating System.

The Green Globes system is a revolutionary green management tool that includes an assessment protocol, rating system and guide for integrating environmentally friendly design into commercial buildings. Once complete, it also facilitates recognition of the project through third-party verification. It's an interactive, flexible and affordable approach to environmental design.

As the first serious competitor to LEED in the U.S., Green Globes has the potential to undermine LEED’s dominance and slow the growth of the U.S. Green Building Council. Competition could also prove beneficial to LEED, which until now has been the only game in town, and therefore the sole focus of demands from all sides about what it should and should not do. Perhaps the introduction of choice in the market will clarify some issues and lead to improvements all around.

Tayco is responsive.
We listen to you. We make a commitment. Then we keep our word.

HBF scores two more winners!
HBF won The Best of NeoCon 2006 Silver Award for its new Trace Collection and the Gold Award for LOGICmeet.

The Trace Collection is a series of patterns aimed at an upholstered wall and/or upholstery application that offers a new perspective on pattern, scale and color.
  1. Crumple/Stipple
  2. Gesture (shown with Imprint and Overlay)
  3. Imprint
  4. Intersect
  5. Overlay
Trace is the third collection in a row that targets environmental choices in fabric, along with Aerial View and Greener Fields. Designers are responding well to not only the strong environmental story, but also to the larger patterns, unique yarns, tactile quality, juicy colors and fantastic price points that will allow these designs to be used in larger volume.

This is HBF's first introduction into Upholstered Walls/Panel and already it's a winner. HBF is certainly no stranger to the winner's circle. Their design achievements include over 30 Gold and Silver product design awards, including four Best of Competition awards in the past twenty years!
